Small Eco~Vases: Beautiful, delicate, and unbelievably unique. You can do much more with a classy vase than you'd think. Plus, vases are compatible with a surprisingly wide variety of fish, including:
Bettas, Goldfish, Guppies, A variety of Gouramis (Dwarf blues are our favorite.), Paradise Fish, and many other anabantoids. (fish with lungs instead of gills.) You can also start larger anabantoids like a Polypteris that live to be three to five inches+ in a 3 gallon+ vase that they'll enjoy happy for life if started at a young age.
Large Filtered European-Style Eco~Vases: With air pumping through the water, vases can be suitable for an even wider variety of community fish. You can also start a monster anabantoid while its still young in a vase and then upgrade to a larger tank as he expands his need for space. Good examples of small tank breeders you'll find easily are kissing fish who you can put into the koi pond in the summer to devour your algae, or our personal favorite the commonly found polypterus which is an ancient dinosaur snake fish that you can take out of the tank for a few hours when he gets big and let him crawl around the kitchen floor or maybe more likely around your back yard fish pond.
